Nine-year-old, Jasmine Parker, from Smythes Creek is dreaming of a tropical getaway after winning the Begonia Festival Trail - and a $3000 travel voucher from Lifestyle Travel, Ballarat
The children's competition encourages families to follow the map around the Botanical Gardens to locate a series of hidden items.
Jasmine's Mum Lauren Neil and 6 year- old sister Sophie attend the festival each year. They completed the course on Monday, their only stumbling block finding the large yellow submarine created especially for the Festival by art group members at PINARC.
The family has participated in the Begonia Festival trail in previous years and decided to take the journey again after reading about the trail in the myBallarat magazine.
"She was very excited to receive the phone call yesterday," Jasmine's Mum said.
Jasmine is a student of Woady Yallock Primary School (Ross Creek Campus).
An estimated 60,000 people attended this year's festival which included a bumper program of children's activities.
Typically, 35% are visitors, with many usually staying an average of two nights.
While final figures are still being calculated, the economic development impact of the annual Begonia Festival is around $4million.
