On 6 August 2026, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (the ACCC) released a draft determination proposing to grant authorisation to Vintage Energy Ltd, Metgasco Ltd and Bridgeport (Cooper Basin) Pty Ltd to jointly market and give effect to provisions of gas supply agreements relating to the supply of gas from the ATP 2021 Vali Field in the Queensland Cooper/Eromanga Basin.
The ACCC proposes to grant authorisation for 5 years. The ACCC also proposes to give effect to agreements that may have gas supply terms up to and including 2046.
The ACCC is now seeking submissions in response to the draft determination by 21 August 2026, before making its final decision. More information about the draft determination decision and about making a submission is available on the ACCC's public register.
