AFLW will return to Mars Stadium when the Western Bulldogs host St Kilda in a Round 8 clash on Saturday, 3 October.
The match-up brings elite women's football back to Ballarat, giving local fans the opportunity to watch some of the AFLW's best talent in action.
"We're delighted and honoured that our AFLW team's upcoming match against the Saints will be the first major event to take place in the newly redeveloped Mars Stadium," Western Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains said.
"Ballarat is truly our home away from home and our commitment to the people of the Ballarat region remains absolute, not just on gamedays but all year round.
"We're grateful to all of our Ballarat members for their patience and ongoing commitment during this redevelopment period and we look forward to bringing our AFL men's team back here in 2027 and beyond."
City of Ballarat Acting Mayor, Cr Ben Taylor said the fixture reinforces Ballarat's reputation as a destination for major sporting events.
"We're proud to welcome AFLW football back to Mars Stadium and continue our strong partnership with the Western Bulldogs," he said.
"Footy delivers benefits both on and off the field for our city, attracting visitors, supporting local businesses and showcasing talented athletes who inspire the next generation to get involved in sport.
"We're thrilled that Ballarat residents will once again have the opportunity to experience the excitement of AFLW and watch elite women's football right here on our home turf."
The partnership between the City of Ballarat and the Western Bulldogs dates back to 2017 and supports the City of Ballarat's Events Strategy and Active Women and Girls Strategy.
