AICD Welcomes ACNC Commissioner

AICD

The Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) congratulates Sue Woodward on her appointment as new Commissioner of the Australian Charities and Not-For-Profit Commission (ACNC).

Ms Woodward brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this pivotal role and her appointment is due recognition of the invaluable leadership and vision she has shown during her career in the charities and not-for-profit sector.

Since its establishment in 2012, the AICD has been able to work closely with the ACNC to assist charities on their governance practices and we look forward to continuing this important collaboration with Ms Woodward at the helm.

The AICD has worked directly with Ms Woodward on a range of committees and advisory bodies related to the NFP sector and we commend her excellent work over many years at Justice Connect. This has included the focus on #FixFundraising, amongst other significant policy and regulatory issues.

We have every confidence of continuing this very productive working relationship with Ms Woodward in her role as ACNC Commissioner.

The AICD is also encouraged by the strong support shown towards the charity and NFP sector by Dr Andrew Leigh since his appointment as Minister responsible for the sector. Dr Leigh has highlighted the importance of an independent process to appoint the new ACNC Commissioner and we very much welcome the outcome of this process.
