Alice Springs to Host Parramatta Eels Training Camp

NRL fans in the Red Centre will have the chance to meet and greet their biggest sporting heroes next year when Parramatta Eels host a Community Camp from 12-15 February.

Based on the success of last years Camp, there will be an open training session at ANZAC Oval and members of the community can get their memorabilia signed by their favourite players as part of a Junior Skills and Coach the Coaches clinic.

Parramatta Eels will also spend much of their trip inspiring the next generation of NRL sporting stars, with 10 school visits for Alice Springs, three visits for Yulara and a visit to Santa Teresa including Ltyentye Apurte School.

The Camp will take the place of a pre-season match, and will include a barbecue breakfast for the community. Appearances at the Alice Springs Hospitals Childrens Ward, Alice Springs Womens Shelter and Alice Springs Correctional Centre are also planned for the team during their four-day trip to the Red Centre.

Sport plays a huge part in many Territorians lives and we are delighted that Alice Springs can host the Parramatta Eels Training Camp again this year.

Not only does this four-day training camp provide great benefits to Territorians, but it also highlights our ability to host significant sporting events right across the Northern Territory, including the Red Centre.

As stated by Member for Braitling, Dale Wakefield

The Territory is home to thousands of NRL fans and Im confident the Parramatta Eels Training Camp will be well supported by locals looking to meet their favourite players.

As well as the signing and training sessions in Alice, the team will be visiting a number of schools where hundreds of young Territorians will have the rare chance to meet and greet their Rugby League idols.
