AllBetterCare Changes Name to UPMC Urgent Care

UPMC Urgent Care Carlisle releaseHARRISBURG, Pa. – AllBetterCare Urgent Care has changed its name to UPMC Urgent Care, joining a network of 13 urgent care clinics throughout Pennsylvania, effective March 1. Days and hours of operation remain the same. Patients continue to receive the same high-quality, urgent care from the more than 70 UPMC board-certified emergency and family practice physicians, advanced practice providers and support staff.
"Convenient and accessible urgent care services reduce unnecessary emergency department visits, while providing personal, efficient and superior walk-in care," said Peter Kang, M.D., M.B.A., FACEP, emergency medicine, UPMC Urgent Care. "Since joining UPMC in 2017, we have been providing our patients more coordinated care with increased access to specialists throughout the UPMC network."
Patients can receive walk-in care at three convenient urgent care locations in Carlisle, Harrisburg and Mechanicsburg for help with minor illnesses and injuries. UPMC Urgent Care also offers vaccinations, school and work physicals, occupational health, basic laboratory and imaging services and more.
UPMC Urgent Care provides prompt, quality medical care to patients with minor illnesses and injuries that are of such seriousness as to not require emergency services. These include, but are not limited to:
  • Coughs, colds and flu
  • Cuts, scrapes and rashes
  • Eye and ear infections
  • Lab and imaging services
  • Pregnancy testing
  • On-site prescription medications
  • Pulled and strained muscles
  • Sports, school and driver's license physicals
  • Vaccinations and immunizations: tetanus, flu, Hepatitis B
  • COVID testing
In addition, these three UPMC Urgent Care locations will move into the integrated Epic electronic health record (EHR) platform used by UPMC Pinnacle. Epic creates one EHR, which is a computerized version of a traditional paper medical chart. It brings together all information for each patient and securely stores it digitally. Patients can see their upcoming appointments, view health summaries and test results, and receive important health reminders by registering for the MyPinnacleHealth
