Appeal for dashcam after fail to stop crash at Cooma

Police are appealing for dashcam footage as they continue to investigate a fail to stop crash in the state's south this morning.

About 3.40am (Thursday 24 June 2021), emergency services were called to the Snowy Mountains Highway, near Old Dry Plains Road, Cooma, after reports an injured man was located on the road.

The 36-year-old was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Canberra Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Monaro Police District established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic police.

Inquiries have revealed the man was hit by a vehicle, not further described, that failed to stop.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area, or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
