Applications are now open for an Australian Research Council (ARC) Industry Laureate Fellowships. These fellowships facilitate the development of high-quality and impactful collaborations between university and industry shareholders to solve industry challenges.

ARC Chief Executive Officer, Ms Judi Zielke PSM, said that "Industry Fellowships support researchers from either academia or industry to gain invaluable experience working in different environments."

"The fellowships will help researchers build skills and networks across universities and industry while achieving tangible research outcomes," Ms Zielke said.

"Working with a broad range of stakeholders, the ARC has made this scheme flexible for researchers from both industry and academia. Breaking down barriers will help industry understand the importance of research and development in growing their business. Creating opportunities for this type of collaboration is important for Australia's prosperity."

With $215 million in new ARC funding over a four or five year period, the Industry Fellowships Program will allow senior researchers to explore career opportunities in both industry and academia for research collaboration, translation, and commercialisation.

By funding significant programs of research that deliver step-changes across a variety of industry settings, Industry Laureate Fellowships helps position Australia to meet the challenges of tomorrow.

The fellowships are open to senior researchers with an exemplary record of research translation who want to empower the next generation in their field, or senior industry professionals looking to build and transform an emerging industry.
