Council is gearing up for its biggest ever New Year's Eve celebration in Sturt Park, with an impressive array of music and kids activities planned.

The night's live music will be headlined by country music icon and People's Choice Award Album of The Year winner, Paul Costa.

Costa was inducted into the Country Music Hands of Fame in 2018, and in the same year was a finalist for Male Artist of The Year at the prestigious CMC Music Awards.

He has built a reputation as one of the most energetic live performers in Australian country music, performing at major events both locally and internationally.

Costa will be supported by Caramelephant, using synth, guitar and live beat-making gear to create a smooth mix of funk, classic R&B, and jazzy renditions of fan favourites and mashups.

Other highlights on the night will include dodgem cars and giant inflatables ($15 wristband for unlimited use), a toddler zone, sensory zone, and silent disco with DJ David Burrowes.

A variety of food vendors will be on site providing food and drink, however attendees are reminded that this is an alcohol-free family event.

As always, the evening will feature two massive fireworks displays from atop the Line Of Lode, with the first display at 9.15pm and the encore performance at midnight.

Residents are encouraged to prepare for both shows and keep all animals secure for their duration.
