Police have charged a man following investigations into an armed robbery in Caboolture yesterday, 8 September.
It is alleged at approximately 9.40am, the man approached another man who was walking on Bulloo Street and threatened him with a firearm, demanding cash before fleeing the scene on foot with a quantity of personal items.
The alleged victim was not injured.
It will be further alleged shortly before 10.10am, the man entered a business on King Street and threatened two staff members with the firearm while demanding cash.
He then left the business on foot with a quantity of cash. Both staff members were physically uninjured.
It is then alleged the man walked to Mareli Street where he threatened a woman with the firearm and demanded she drive him to Dawson Street, which she did.
The woman was not physically injured.
Following subsequent investigations, police apprehended the man on Condamine Street around 10.25am where they took him into custody and seized the firearm.
A 28-year-old Mitchelton man has been charged with three counts each of deprivation of liberty and common assault, as well as one count each of armed robbery, robbery, enter premise with intent to commit indictable offence and unlawful entry of vehicle for committing indictable offences.
He is due to face Caboolture Magistrates Court today, 9 September.
Operation Yankee Forge is a six-month, district-led, statewide initiative targeting high-harm and high-volume offences, including unlawful use of motor vehicles, unlawful entry and robbery.
The operation will enhance policing activities across Queensland to reduce victim numbers and strengthen community safety.
Police regions, supported by specialist squads, will undertake coordinated disruption activities across the state. Police will target high-harm offenders and work closely with partner agencies to ensure offenders are held accountable. With a strong focus on crime prevention, police will be highly visible as they prevent, disrupt and investigate offending, with particular emphasis on unlawful use, robbery and unlawful entry.
The operation will be locally led and centrally coordinated, leveraging the knowledge and experience of officers who know their communities best.
