Christmas Starts Here At Heritage Village Markets

Artist Paintings by Caitlin

The festive season comes to life at the Heritage Village Christmas Markets on Saturday 28 November from 4pm to 9pm, inviting the community to kick off Christmas celebrations with an evening of shopping, entertainment and family fun.

With free entry and extended twilight trading, visitors can explore a diverse range of stalls featuring handmade, locally crafted and high-quality gifts from makers across Central Queensland. From unique Christmas presents to delicious food and festive treats, there's something for everyone to enjoy.

Families can step back in time with vintage vehicle rides from 4pm, offering a nostalgic experience through the Village grounds until dusk.

Set amongst the Heritage Village's historic streetscape and original buildings, the Christmas markets provide a uniquely local festive experience that blends Christmas cheer with the region's rich heritage.

Deputy Mayor and Communities, Culture and Heritage Councillor Drew Wickerson said the Heritage Village Christmas Markets were a highlight of Council's Christmas Starts Here Event Trail.

"The atmosphere at the Heritage Village is truly special and the Christmas Markets are a wonderful opportunity to shop local, discover meaningful gifts and enjoy a memorable evening with friends and family while celebrating the holiday season," Cr Wickerson said.

"As part of our Christmas Starts Here program, the markets really encourage residents and visitors to come together, support local businesses and experience one of the region's most cherished Christmas traditions."

Among the local creatives featured at this year's markets is artist and muralist Caitlin Lever of Paintings by Caitlin.

"The Heritage Village Christmas Markets are one of my favourite events of the year because they bring together so many talented local makers in such a unique setting. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet the artists behind the work, find meaningful handmade gifts and support small local businesses in the lead-up to Christmas," Mrs Lever said.

"I'll have a range of my original artworks, prints, notebooks, giftware and throw rugs available, and I'm looking forward to sharing my art with the community while celebrating the festive season at the Heritage Village."
