Stakeholders to turn the first sod at Alexandra Park

Work has started on a $10 million project to redevelop Alexandra Park Pavilion.

On Friday 12 May, Mayor Councillor Steve Holland, Zoe Mackenzie, Federal Member for Flinders, Jessie Doull, AFL Victoria, and Jade Phelan, The Bays Healthcare Group CEO, were joined by project stakeholders to turn the first sod at Alexandra Park.

This project is being delivered by Mornington Peninsula Shire ($4.1M) in partnership with the Victorian Government Growing Suburbs Fund ($2.9M), The Bays Hospital with Federal Government funding ($2.6M), AFL Victoria ($100,000), and the Alexandra Park Project Group ($400,000), who were instrumental in their advocacy efforts to attract funding for the project.

The work will include:

  • new change rooms for home and away teams and umpires
  • a rehabilitation room
  • equipment storerooms
  • kiosk with kitchen, office and reception
  • four medical consulting suits for The Bays
  • social room
  • toilets
  • upgrades to the car park.

The work will benefit the Mornington Cricket Club, Mornington Junior Football, Peninsula Raiders Super Rules, and the Mornington Football Netball Club.

The project is due to be finished in April 2024.
