Dangerous operation causing harm, Underwood

Police have charged a 38-year-old Underwood man after a boy was hit by a car this morning.

Officers were called to a shopping centre complex on the corner of Compton and Kingston roads around 3.45am.

Police will allege the man entered the complex in a white Nissan four-wheel-drive and struck the 14-year-old boy, pushing him against a wall.

The boy was transported to Queensland Children's Hospital and remains in a serious but stable condition.

The man was charged with one count of dangerous operation of a vehicle causing harm. He is due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court on November 25.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the lead up to the incident and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
