A 25-year-old Carina man has been charged with a string of traffic offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle, after his motorbike was recorded travelling more than 120km/hour.
It is alleged on 21 February that the 25-year-old rider was observed speeding, riding through red lights and operating the vehicle dangerously on major roads in Virginia.
Police attempted to intercept the motorcycle, and the rider had stopped on the side of Sandgate Road, but took off again, evading police and accelerating up to speeds in excess of 150km/h.
After subsequent investigations, officers from the Road Policing Task Force executed a search warrant on 9 March at a Seven Hills address.
The motorcycle was located on the property and seized.
The 25-year-old Carina man was charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle, failing to have proper control of a vehicle, stopping on a red traffic light over stop line, failing to ensure each number plate properly attached to vehicle, failing to remain at a place, disobeying the speed limit and driving a defective light vehicle on a road.
His case was heard in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 28 April, where the case was adjourned until 27 May.
