On November 11, the MMK Research Grand Prix was held for the first time. Seven doctoral students at the department presented their doctoral projects in the most captivating, inspiring and educational way possible - in five minutes!

A jury consisting of Kerstin Brismar, Antti Siika, and Ann-Britt Wikström from MMK evaluated the doctoral students' presentations.
After the audience vote, Daniel Andersson from the Clinical Physiology group was named the winner. His presentation, "Why be wrong when you can be right", focused on improving the diagnosis of patients with suspected heart attacks. Daniel was praised for the clarity and engagement in his presentation. In addition to a diploma and a trophy, he also received SEK 10 000 to use as a travel grant for a scientific conference.
A big thank you to the other participants, all of whom delivered excellent presentations on their PhD projects:
- Buse Yel Bektash , Translational Psychiatry
- Alia Shamikh , Clinical Genetics
- Arisa Kitagishi , Vascular Surgery
- Riccardo Lizzani , Signal Transduction
- Wenjie Cai , Translational Psychiatry
- Emmy Erskine , Translational Psychiatry
The event is inspired by the Researcher's Grand Prix, Sweden's largest competition in presentation techniques for researchers.
Our goal is to make the MMK Researcher Grand Prix to an annual event.
