Danish Postdoc, DTU Rep Competes in Global Science Contest

Practicing for the perfect three-minute pitch at the Falling Walls Lab MSCA competition in Mons, Belgium, on 18 and 19 April 2024, postdoc Sakhi Ghelichi channels his passion for food and science. He integrates innovative ideas from marine sources into everyday meals to ensure healthy nutrition and delicious taste.

Selected as the only representative from Denmark and the sole participant with a background in food science, Sakhi Ghelichi will deliver a condensed presentation on functional foods among 15 contestants from various scientific fields and countries.

Falling Walls Lab MSCA 2024 brings together innovative researchers within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) framework – more info below. Participants deliver short pitches challenging scientific boundaries and inspiring with exciting ideas across disciplines and nationalities. The aim is to bridge research areas and foster a global dialogue on future developments.

Ghelichi's presentation, scheduled for Thursday afternoon on 18 April 2024 between 15:50 and 16:35, will be livestreamed on YouTube. His research focuses on enriching functional foods with omega-3 fatty acids and utilizing bioactive peptides to optimize health benefits and combat oil oxidation.
