The Northern Territory Police Force has arrested multiple property offenders from the West Daly district and are seeking information from the public in relation to four vehicles stolen from multiple suburbs across Darwin on Thursday 29 October 2026.
Police allege at least six offenders were involved in the offending which involved the theft of four vehicles from Darwin CBD, Winnellie and Berrimah.
Members from Strike Force Trident, Dog Operations Unit, and Darwin Traffic Operations immediately deployed and engaged with the stolen vehicles.
All four vehicles fled in convoy with one crashing on Kirkland Road, Durack and the occupant fled across the Palmerston Golf Course. The remaining vehicles fled southbound down the Stuart Highway, where an allegedly stolen Navara attempted to ram an unmarked Police car.
The vehicles were further pursued south on the Stuart Highway where three male occupants aged 16, 17 and 18 were successfully apprehended after deployment of tyre deflation devices.
The remaining vehicle was pursued to Daly River where local members deployed TDDs causing the vehicle to come to a stop. Three occupants fled the vehicle and were tracked by DOU members and Patrol Dog Cheeko, with a 22-year-old male and a 17-year-old male being arrested. The third offender remains outstanding.
Police will allege that during the pursuit, occupants of the vehicles threw metal objects at both police and civilian vehicles and attempted to ram multiple police vehicles.
All five offenders have been charged with a range of property and traffic related offences and will appear before the court today.
Investigators from Strike Force Trident urge anyone with relevant CCTV, dash cam footage, or any information in relation to these thefts to make contact on 131 444.
