Drug lab at Wingfield, South Australia

Police have arrested a man at Wingfield this morning, after an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine.

About 4am on Friday 26 March, Serious and Organised Crime Branch officers assisted by members of STAR Operations searched an address at Sixth Street, Wingfield.

Officers searched the warehouse and located a large scale clandestine drug laboratory. The drug laboratory is in the process of being dismantled with the assistance of Forensic Chemists from Forensic Science South Australia.

Police have also located a significant quantity of methamphetamine which will be alleged to have been manufactured at the laboratory site.

A 40-year-old man from Findon has been arrested and charged with manufacturing a controlled drug. He has been refused bail and is expected to face the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Friday 26 March.
