DTU remains number one in Nordics on scientific impact

Technical University of Denmark

DTU is the Nordic region's leading university when it comes to scientific impact, according to Leiden Ranking, which just published its rankings for 2023.

The Leiden Ranking is one of the most acknowledged university rankings, and it is based solely on scientific publications from researchers from all over the world. The ranking is created by researchers at Leiden University in the Netherlands and thus does not have a commercial purpose.

DTU ranks high on the proportion of scientific publications that are being cited, which is a testament to the quality and impact of the university's research. Globally, DTU moves up nine places to number 113 out of 1,411 universities from all over the world, while DTU is once again ranked highest in Denmark and the Nordics.

In addition, DTU is performing well when it comes to industry collaborations. While DTU goes back five places, the University is still ranked #14 in the world, as well as #1 in Denmark and #2 in the Nordics.

"It is a recognition of DTU's ability to create world-class research, and our position on the ranking indicates that our research makes a real difference in the world. That's also why the industry finds collaborating with our talented researchers attractive," says DTU Provost Rasmus Larsen.
