Energy Finance Conference Sheds Light on Sustainable Future

Energy Finance

The Energy Finance and Energy Transition Conference, focused on advancing the critical dialogue about how to finance the global energy transition, is scheduled for May 19-20 at the Marriott Marquis Houston. The event is jointly hosted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and the Department of Finance at the University of Houston's C. T. Bauer College of Business.

"The transition to low-carbon energy production and distribution is one of the most important challenges facing us today," said Praveen Kumar, Cullen Distinguished Chair and Professor of Finance. "For this transition to be successful, the financial aspects are critically important."

The conference being held in the Energy Capital of the World allows organizers to bring together top industry leaders, finance professionals, researchers and policy experts to discuss challenges and opportunities.

Conference presentations and discussions will help attendees deepen their understanding of the energy transition, its financial aspects and associated risks.

The conference program includes:

  • Keynote speech by Bobby Tudor, founder and CEO of Artemis Energy Partners, an investing and advisory platform focused on companies involved in the global energy market.
  • An industry panel on the energy transition featuring Jim Gable of Chevron, Joe Powell of the UH Energy Transition Institute, and Burhan Koҫ of ENGIE North America.
  • A panel on the oil and gas industry featuring Vicki Hollub of Occidental Petroleum, Helen Currie of ConocoPhillips, and Dan Pickering of Pickering Energy Partners.
  • Presentations by leading academic experts on various key topics.

While the event is open to the public and free to attend, advance registration is required. Breaks and refreshments will be provided.
