Year 12 students from the Class of 2022 who have their sights set on further study can apply now to receive $5000 through a bursary program coordinated by Logan City Council.
The Tertiary Education Bursaries are awarded each year to City of Logan students who are starting full-time undergraduate studies after finishing school.
Governance Chair, Councillor Karen Murphy, said students from families with limited financial resources were particularly encouraged to apply.
"It can be expensive to go on to university after leaving school, with textbooks and other resources being quite costly," Cr Murphy said.
"We have some of the brightest young minds here in the city and money shouldn't be a barrier to reaching your potential, especially if you've demonstrated commitment to your studies throughout high school.
"Council has provided these bursaries for more than 20 years to help local residents succeed in a range of careers including health, arts, law, engineering and business."
The bursaries are funded by Council as well as businesses and organisations from South East Queensland.
Applications for the bursaries are open until Friday, December 23.
Students will be assessed on their academic ability, educational highlights, motivation to succeed, financial hardship and personal or social circumstances.
