Fine issued for COVID breach, South Australia

An Amateur football club has been issued a fine following an alleged COVID breach overnight.

Last night (Saturday 12 September) police received reports of a possible COVID breach at a football club in North Eastern Suburbs.

A COVID-19 Compliance Officer attended and identified the club was breaching COVID restrictions and could not produce a Covid Safe Plan. An approved SA Health Management Plan is required for the type of entertainment offered at the club.

The club were issued with a $5060 fine. Licensing Enforcement Branch will be conducting further investigations into potential breaches of the Liquor Licensing Act and the matter will be referred to the Liquor & Gambling Commissioner.
