Getting To Point: Pet Acupuncture Arrives At JCUVet

Pets suffering from a range of debilitating conditions can benefit from an innovative service being offered at Townsville's JCUVet – medical acupuncture.

The veterinary clinic, based at JCU's Bebegu Yumba Campus in Douglas, now offers medical acupuncture to support a wide range of conditions in pets, including:

* Acute and chronic pain (e.g., arthritis, musculoskeletal injuries).

* Post-operative recovery and healing.

* Neurological and spinal conditions.

* Inflammatory medical conditions such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease and;

JCUVet Anaesthesia Clinician Dr Gretel Fowler BSc BVSc MANZCVS (Anaesthesia & Analgesia), cVMA (Medical Acupuncture), who is administering the treatment after an extensive period of study and certification, said medical acupuncture works alongside conventional treatments to promote the animal's natural healing abilities.
