NT Government

The Gold Coast SUNS have returned to the Top End, giving Territorians and interstate visitors the chance to catch back-to-back matches against the Western Bulldogs then Adelaide Crows over the next two weekends.

The Round 11 and 12 matches will be played at TIO Stadium, with the affectionately known Territory Suns ready to don their red Indigenous round guernsey for the AFL's Sir Doug Nicholls Round tomorrow at 6.55pm. This will be followed by the Crows clash on Saturday, 3 June at 7pm.

Territorians will see home-grown talent take to the field, with eight SUNS players with links to the NT heading to the Top End. They include Territory-born players Malcolm Rosas Jnr, Joel Jeffrey and Ben Long, who are named to play on a familiar ground in front of family and friends.

In the week between the two games, the SUNS will undertake a range of community engagement activities, including school visits and public training sessions, and enjoy a day of Top End experiences, from Litchfield to fishing.

Fans can attend the Captain's Run from 4.30pm to 5.30pm at TIO Stadium this afternoon, and there will also be a public training session on Wednesday, 31 May at TIO Stadium from 4pm to 7pm.

Game day entertainment includes a VFL curtain raiser clash between the SUNS and Footscray Bulldogs on Saturday, 27 May at 3pm. Gates will open at 2.30pm.

On Saturday, 3 June, the curtain raiser will be the Central Australian Football League representative squad against the Waratahs. Gates will open at 2.30pm.
