HKU, MIDAS Unveil Strategic Partnership for Tech-Enhanced Education

The Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Hong Kong (Civil Engineering, HKU) and MIDAS Information Technology Co., Ltd (MIDAS) jointly announced their agreement to enter into a Partnership Agreement on November 16, 2023, forging an international collaboration for the advancement of higher education.

The partnership programme brings together Civil Engineering, one of HKU's most prestigious and oldest departments, best known for nurturing and educating highly qualified and motivated engineers, and MIDAS, an international engineering software corporation dedicated to providing cutting-edge technology for engineers.

Under the partnership agreement, Civil Engineering will have access to academic software licenses offered by MIDAS for teaching purposes.

During the past 111 years, the Department of Civil Engineering at The University of Hong Kong has nurtured many brilliant leaders in the civil engineering discipline and made significant contributions to the local and overseas community. The Department has established an international reputation in both teaching and research. Today, the Department has 30 teaching staff, around 402 undergraduate, 539 postgraduate students, 43 Postdoctoral Fellows and 15 Research Assistant Professors.

The undergraduate degree programme is fully accredited by The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers and the master programme is accredited by the Joint Board of Moderators, UK. In addition, the Department offers professional training courses for civil engineers and engineering graduates.
