International Women's Day 2023 at Campaspe Libraries

In celebration of International Women's Day on 8 March, two renowned authors Maya Linnell and Caroline Beecham will be special guests at Campaspe Libraries events.

Born on the south coast of England, Caroline Beecham was an experienced film and television writer and producer in the UK, Europe and North America, before settling in Sydney where she discovered a love of writing historical novels, reimagining the lives of pioneering women through fiction.

Bestselling rural fiction author, Maya Linnell, began her writing career as a country journalist and radio host, before moving into fictional writing. She now resides in coastal Victorian farmland and has published four novels since 2019, as well as blogging for the Romance Writers of Australia website.

On Sunday 5 March at 2.15pm both authors will be speaking 'in-conversation' style at the Echuca Library. Collins Booksellers will be selling copies of Ms Beecham and Ms Linnell's books at the event, and the authors will sign purchased copies for attendees. Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Rob Amos expressed how privileged we are to have exceptional authors visiting Campaspe Shire to honour International Women's Day.

"We are thrilled to have secured writers with such breadth of experience and talent attending events in our region.

"There will be plenty of opportunity for the audience to interact with the writers and ask questions," he said.

On Saturday, 4 March from 1 - 3pm Ms Linnell will also be conducting a writer's workshop at the Kyabram Town Hall. This workshop, sponsored by Campaspe Libraries, Kyabram Town Hall Writers Group and Celebrating Women Social Club is a free event and includes afternoon tea, but bookings are essential. Ms Linnell has asked that participants please bring notepad and pen or their preferred writing materials with them.
