A learner driver and his supervising driver have been charged after both allegedly returned high range PCA readings in Sydney's southwest.
About 4pm yesterday (Saturday 30 May 2026), officers from Liverpool City Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle on Meadows Road, Mt Pritchard for random testing.
Police will allege the driver – a 39-year-old man – returned a positive roadside breath test.
The supervising driver – a 49-year-old man – also allegedly returned a positive roadside test.
Both men were arrested and taken to Cabramatta Police Station for a breath analysis.
The learner driver allegedly returned a reading of 0.208. He also underwent an oral fluid test, which allegedly returned positive results for Cannabis.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for drive with high range PCA and illicit drug and drive with high range PCA. He was given an infringement notice for learner driver not display "L" plates as prescribed.
The supervising driver allegedly returned a reading of 0.245.
He was issued a Court Attendance Notice for licensed driver, high range PCA sit next to learner.
The men are due to appear before Liverpool Local Court on Wednesday 24 June 2026.
