The Low Carbon Liquid Fuels Knowledge Hub will give Australians, industry and communities a single place to access evidence-based information, data and practical resources on these fuel types.
By bringing this information together in one place, the Hub will make it easier to understand emerging fuel technologies, supply chains, sustainability considerations and opportunities for Australia.
Low carbon liquid fuels can be used in place of conventional diesel, jet fuel, petrol and shipping fuel and their production and use is growing in Australia. They can be produced from biomass and waste materials, including by-products from farming and forestry, or from renewable hydrogen combined with captured carbon dioxide.
The Hub, which was delivered in partnership with the Queensland University of Technology through the iMOVE Cooperative Research Centre, provides a trusted national source of information on low carbon liquid fuels.
It includes clear explainers along with more detailed resources on feedstocks, supply chains, standards, certification, datasets, projects, case studies and government programs.
The Australian Government committed $162,500 toward the Hub.
