Maidstone armed robbery

Maribyrnong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Maidstone earlier this month.

Detectives have been told two men entered a petrol station on Ballarat Road, Maidstone on Wednesday 4 January about 10.10pm.

Once inside the store the pair approached the attendant and jumped the service counter.

One man was carrying what appeared to be a handgun, while the other held a large kitchen knife and threatened the attendant.

The offenders made demands for cash and cigarettes before filling a bag with cigarettes and vapes.

The offenders were last seen fleeing on foot south on Whittaker Street.

One male is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a dark hood pulled tight over his head, wearing a high-vis yellow shirt and approximately 20-25 years old.

He was brandishing a firearm and carrying a see-through satchel bag.

The second male is described as being of Caucasian appearance with a motorcycle helmet covering his face, wearing a high-vis orange jacket and approximately 20-25 years old.

He was carrying a large kitchen knife and a backpack.

Investigators have released images and CCTV of two people they believe may be able to assist with their enquires.
