Man arrested following football affray

Werribee police have arrested a man following an incident at a suburban football match in Hoppers Crossing on the weekend, Victoria Police say.

The 40-year-old Truganina man has been charged after a spectator allegedly ran onto the Hogans Road grounds and assaulted an umpire last Sunday.

The man has been charged with affray and two counts of assault.

He has been bailed to appear at the Werribee Magistrates’ Court on 5 February, 2018.
