Man stabbed with screwdriver during robbery at Guildford

A man has been taken to hospital after he was attacked with a screwdriver and crowbar during a robbery at Guildford last night.

About 8.45pm (Wednesday 12 November 2020), a 21-year-old man parked his Toyota Corolla on Davidson Road, near Robertson Street.

Police have been told a group of up to eight males – all dressed in black clothing – forced him to the ground as he exited his vehicle.

The man was stabbed in the chest with a screwdriver and hit across the legs with a crowbar, before the group stole his wallet and fled.

The injured man was able to return to his car and drove to a home on Highfield Road, before emergency serviced were contacted.

Police and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended, before the man was taken to Westmead Hospital suffering a punctured lung. He remains in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established as officers from the Cumberland Police Area Command investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
