Some of Western Australia's most vulnerable people will benefit from projects that are being supported by $1,193,785 in Gaming Community Trust grants.
The Gaming Community Trust includes unclaimed gaming winnings to be redistributed to benefit the community.
The Family Planning Association of WA will receive $496,605 over two years to deliver its Safe to Tell program.
The program will upskill primary health workers in Perth to better identify, respond to and refer cases of family and domestic violence.
Starick will receive $345,000 over three years to deliver its Early Intervention Project for Children Impacted by Family and Domestic Violence.
The funding will enable staff at Starick refuges to ensure that children who have experienced FDV can access vital occupational therapy and speech pathology services.
Clubs WA will use its funding of $352,180 over three years to undertake the Club Kickstarter Recovery Program.
The program will train and mentor staff at regional clubs that may have been adversely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
As stated by Racing and Gaming Minister Paul Papalia:
"It's great that these unclaimed winnings are being distributed to deliver worthwhile projects that will help people when they are at their most vulnerable and in need of assistance.
"This funding will also help upskill staff at regional clubs who were affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"The McGowan Government supports the use of these trust funds for initiatives that will help make WA a better place to live."
