- $5.5 million investment to deliver a new home for Yanchep Police Station
- The station will relocate to a new site to better support policing needs in the growing northern suburbs and keeping the Yanchep community safe
- This Cook Labor Government investment delivers on priority to build safe communities and support a high quality of life for Western Australians, no matter where we live
The Cook Labor Government is strengthening community safety in the northern suburbs - investing $5.5 million to give Yanchep Police Station a new home.
Through this important investment, Yanchep Police Station will be centrally located with easier access for residents, further supporting the Western Australia Police Force in the northern suburbs.
The Yanchep Police Station will move from its current location near the Y.hub and Yanchep Sports and Social Club, to a central location closer to the existing main shopping district and Yanchep Central shopping centre.
The new location will provide a long-term home for Yanchep Police to continue their important work in keeping the local community safe.
As stated by Police Minister Reece Whitby:
"This relocation of Yanchep Police Station means that under a Cook Labor Government the police station will remain in Yanchep.
"The Cook Labor Government recognises the growth in and around Yanchep and calls from the local community and local Member Lorna Clarke to keep Yanchep Police Station in Yanchep.
"We are committed to ensuring that police have what they need to keep the community safe and investing in community safety.
"I'm proud to deliver a strong and continued police presence in Yanchep and the surrounding suburbs."
As stated by Butler MLA Lorna Clarke:
"Securing a new site for the Police Station means that under a Cook Labor Government, there will always be a Police Station in Yanchep, as our community grows.
"I will always back our local WA Police force because they do such a great job of keeping our local communities safe.
"Thank you to everyone who signed my police petition for Yanchep Police Station."
