MetaTrader revamped for iPhone trading

A new mobile-friendly version of MetaTrader 4/5 WebTrader has been released to make it better rescale and fit on different screen sizes, particularly aimed at mobile and other handheld devices.

It appears MetaQuotes Software Corp. has been wasting no time over the past weeks urgently rewriting the browser version of its trading terminal after Apple pulled popular trading apps MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 4, also known as MT4 and MT5, from the App Store in September in a move possibly linked to the Western sanctions over Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

On September 24, 2022, we were the first to report that MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms were quietly deleted from Apple's App Store. MetaQuotes's representative was later quoted in media reports as claiming, without any elaboration, that the removal was due to non-compliance with the App Store Review Guidelines.

Despite worries in September that Google might follow suit, these apps are still available on Google Play for Android devices.

MetaQuotes is a Russian software company that also has registration and an office offshore in Limassol, Cyprus.

Risen to prominence after the Apple ban, WebTrader also called Web Terminal is a HTML5 version of the popular MT4/MT5 trading platforms allowing traders to access their account on any web browser without the need to download and install any additional software.

"The new MetaTrader 5 Web Terminal has become faster and more efficient. The application has not just been optimized — it has been redeveloped from scratch. The new core has enabled faster response to commands and greater operational stability," MetaQuotes says in the release notes.

The new MetaTrader 5 Web provides a fully featured trading terminal from which users can:

  • Work with demo and live accounts
  • Receive any financial symbol quotes
  • Execute trading operations in any financial markets
  • Analyze symbol quotes using more than 30 indicators
  • Use Economic Calendar data for fundamental analysis
