New space for Gertrude and Brunswick Streets

Yarra City Council
Artist render with steps leading down from a grassy hill to people relaxing in a town square

We've created a design for a vibrant new public space at the northeast corner of Gertrude and Brunswick Streets.

During our consultation for the Brunswick Street Streetscape Masterplan there was strong community support for a new public space at this location (over 80%).

The new public space will provide seating, trees and greenery, an improved tram shelter, lighting and an integrated artwork.

The proposed design will also complement other initiatives in the surrounding areas, including the upcoming installation of the Archie Roach and Ruby Hunter statues in Atherton Gardens.

Have your say

Now it's your turn to review the concept design and let us know what you think!

Complete the survey to share your thoughts or come along to one of our 2 in-person sessions at the Northeast corner of Gertrude and Brunswick Streets:

  • Thursday 30 November from 3pm to 5pm
  • Saturday 9 December from 12 midday to 2pm (Vietnamese language support will be available on this day).

Tell us what you think

Please provide your feedback by 9am on Monday 18 December.
