Food authorities have today issued a recall alert on eggs from Ash & Sons egg farm in NSW due to potential Salmonella Enteritidis (SE) contamination.

Customers who bought these eggs should not consume them and can return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
The quantity of potentially contaminated eggs is relatively small and the four affected products are sold at IGAs, independent stores, bakeries and butchers in New South Wales.
"Australian Eggs has been working closely with government authorities to identify supply chain links between farms after SE was identified in egg products last week," Australian Eggs Managing Director, Rowan McMonnies, said.
"This latest farm was firmly on our radar because it is close to farms in which salmonella has recently been detected. The owners undertook voluntary testing for SE and the farm is now under quarantine."
"The authorities are leaving no stone unturned as they work through possible movements between farms in order to trace and eradicate this strain of SE."
Health authorities advise that it is safe to continue eating all other eggs.
