OAS Council Reviews Haiti Symposium, Ocean Conservation

The Permanent Council of the Organization of American States (OAS) will hold two sessions on Wednesday, June 4, in the Simón Bolívar room at the OAS headquarters in Washington, DC.

At 10:30 EDT (14:30 GMT) the Permanent Council will receive the report of the symposium: "Finding Urgent Solutions for the Haiti Security Crisis," discuss "Human rights and mental health in the Americas," and commemorate "World Press Freedom Day" and "Americas Children and Youth Day," among other topics.

Then, at 14:30 EDT (18:30 GMT), the Council will hold a special meeting to discuss"Conservation and Sustainable use of the Oceans."

The meetings will be broadcast live - with interpretation in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese- on the OAS Website and the OAS Facebook page
