COLUMBUS, Ohio – U.S. News & World Report has ranked The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center among the top health care institutions nationwide for the 33rd year in a row.

Warner, MD, chief executive officer at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and executive vice president at Ohio State.
The aim of the Best Hospitals specialty rankings is to help patients with life-threatening or rare conditions find a hospital that excels in treating complex, high-risk cases. There are more than 4,500 eligible hospitals, but only the top hospitals are nationally ranked by specialty.

Ohio State is high performing in diabetes and endocrinology, geriatrics, orthopedics and rheumatology, which places these specialties in the top 10% of all rated hospitals.

U.S. News & World Report rated Ohio State high performing in 17 out of 22 common procedures and conditions. Hospitals that earned a high-performing rating were significantly better than the national average. Those common procedures and conditions are:

The U.S. News & World Report eligibility criteria ensure they only evaluate hospitals that regularly treat complex cases and therefore have the experience to provide high-quality care.
