On the second anniversary of the Abraham Accords, leaders and clinicians from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) celebrate the agreement's impact to date in achieving its goal of strengthening peace around the world. To foster the ideals of cooperation expressed in the understanding, CHOP has worked with international collaborators over the past year to plan the inaugural International Middle East Fetal-Neonatal Cardiovascular Symposium (IMEFNCV), which will be held on October 28 and 29, 2022 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.
"The advent of the Abraham Accords between Israel, the United Arab Emirates, and several other nations, has created exciting opportunities for collaboration," commented Dr. Jack Rychik, Associate Chief of Cardiology and Medical Director of the Fetal Heart Program at CHOP. "The field of medicine is an example where common interests in healing and improving the human condition can be a strong catalyst for international exchange, with the mutual goals of sharing knowledge, improving outcomes for patients, and building sustainable, mutually-beneficial relationships."
With these concepts in mind, CHOP, Schneider Children's Medical Center of Israel, and Corniche Hospital, together with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City from SEHA Abu Dhabi Health Services in the United Arab Emirates, have joined together to co-host the IMEFNCV.

Frey, Vice President of Global Strategy and Business Development at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. "We are hopeful that we are able to further the spirit of collaboration laid out in the Abraham Accords and, in doing so, help improve the lives of children across the globe."
The conference will be a two-day, hybrid in-person and virtual educational conference, with an optional fetal echocardiography imaging simulation workshop for attendees on a third day. Leading experts in the respective fields from Philadelphia and around the world will present their clinical expertise and interact with a global community of attendees-physicians, nurses, and technicians-to discuss the latest standards and innovations of care for the fetus and newborn with heart disease.
