City of Darwin is continuing to invest in safer, modern and inclusive play spaces, with another round of playground upgrades completed across the municipality.
The works form part of City of Darwin's ongoing Playground Revitalisation Program, which delivers improvements that support active, healthy lifestyles and create welcoming places for families.
Lord Mayor Peter Styles said City of Darwin was committed to maintaining high-quality recreational spaces for the community.
"City of Darwin is proud to deliver quality outdoor spaces that encourage children to play, support healthy development and bring our communities together," Mr Styles said.
"Recent upgrades include the installation of new shade, playground equipment and new rubberised softfall at Fong Park, along with replacement softfall at Lake Alexander Playground, Nightcliff Foreshore Playground, Sunset Park Playground and Tiwi Oval Playground.
"These projects ensure our playgrounds remain safe, accessible and enjoyable for children of all ages and abilities," he said.
City of Darwin manages 151 play spaces across the municipality, including 129 playgrounds, 20 exercise stations, one skate park and one obstacle course.
All playground upgrades are guided by City of Darwin's Play Space Strategy, which helps prioritise investment in playgrounds, outdoor exercise stations and other recreational assets across the municipality.
