Police arrest three after car smashes into Coburg North house

Police have arrested three people after a car drove through a fence and crashed into a house in Coburg North in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services were called to Sydney Road to reports of the crash about 1am.

Three people fled the vehicle but specialist units including the Air Wing and the Dog Squad were deployed and the trio were located nearby a short time later and taken into custody.

Checks revealed the vehicle, a silver Peugeot, had been stolen from an address in Eltham on 23 November.

A 24-year-old Shepparton man, 20-year-old South Melbourne woman and 36-year-old Richmond man are currently assisting police with enquiries.
