Police charge man after sexually touching children at swimming pool at Kiama

A man will face court after he allegedly sexually touched four girls while swimming at a south coast pool on two separate occasions.

About midday on Saturday 3 October 2020, two girls - aged 11 and 9 - were swimming at a pool in Kiama when it is alleged a man swam close to the girls before touching them on the leg area.

The girls left the pool and reported the incident to staff and police.

The second occasion occurred about 10am on Thursday 8 October 2020 where police will allege the man approached two girls - aged 11 and 10 - swimming at the same pool allegedly touching them underwater on their back and legs.

This incident was also reported to staff and police.

Following an investigation by detectives from Lake Illawarra Police District, a 77-year-old man was arrested today (Tuesday 22 December 2020) at Lake Illawarra Police Station.

He was charged with six counts of sexual touch person without consent and was granted conditional bail to appear at Kiama Local Court on Tuesday 1 February 2021.
