Police charge man over child abuse material - Police Transport Command

A man will appear in court today charged with additional offences as part of an ongoing investigation by the Police Transport Command.

Last month, the Proactive Crime Team from the Police Transport Command South West arrested a 39-year-old man in Helensburgh following an investigation into alleged train and property vandalism.

A search warrant was executed at his home, where investigators seized a number of items relevant to the investigation including electronic devices.

The man was charged with property, weapon, prohibited drug and theft offences and remains before the court.

Following an examination of the seized electronic devices, the man was arrested at Sutherland Police Station yesterday (Wednesday 4 January 2023).

He was charged with 12 additional offences including possession and control of child abuse material originated from overseas, possession of child abuse material, possession of bestiality material, sexual act towards another and sexual act towards another – between 10 & 16yrs of age.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Thursday 5 January 2023).
