Police charge man with further 38 child sexual offences

Yesterday, Thursday 15 December 2022, Child Abuse Squad charged a 60-year-old man with an additional 38 offences of a sexual nature against children, as a result of their ongoing investigation into his activities.

The additional offences relate to a further four victims and it will be alleged between June 2019 and September 2022, the man sexually offended against them. The offences occurred in the Busselton, Donnybrook, Halls Head and Wannup areas.

The man worked as a general practitioner in the South West District, however the offences did not occur whilst he was in this role.

The 60-year-old man from the South West region has been charged with:

• 18 counts of Sexually Penetrated a child of or Over 13 and Under 16,

• 10 counts of Indecently Deals with a Child Over 13 Under 16,

• Three counts of Attempt To Prevent Course Of Justice,

• Three counts of Indecently Recorded a Child Over 13 Under 16,

• One count of Encourages a Child over 13 and Under 16 to Engage in Sexual Behaviour,

• One count of Child under 16: Persistent Sexual Conduct with,

• One count of Possessing Child Exploitation Material, and

• One count of Sexually Penetrated a Child over 16 years Under Their Care.

He is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, 16 December 2022.
