Police charge three after nearly $5 million worth of cannabis seized at Marulan

Three men have been charged after a search warrant uncovered nearly $5 million worth of cannabis plants in the Southern Tablelands area today.

About 9.20am (Friday 5 June 2020), officers attached to The Hume Police District executed a search warrant at a property on Jerrara Road, Marulan.

Two men, aged 21 and 32, were arrested on arrival, before a third man, aged 27, allegedly attempted to evade police.

He was arrested after a short pursuit through nearby bushland.

Officers searched three poly tunnels and a home on the property, seizing 2,443 cannabis plants, with an estimated potential street value of $4.8 million.

The three men were taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with cultivate prohibited plant (large commercial quantity – cannabis) and found on/entering/leaving drug premises.

All three men were refused bail to face Wollongong Local Court tomorrow (Saturday 6 June 2020).
