Police investigate Ocean Grove stabbing

Ocean Grove police are investigating following a stabbing in Ocean Grove last night.

Investigators have been told the victim, a 16-year-old from Point Lonsdale, was in the vicinity of the shower facilities at the main beach near Bonnyvale Road when he was approached by a group of males about 10pm.

A verbal altercation took place and the teenage was then stabbed to the upper body.

He was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The offenders fled on foot and police arrested two males nearby.

The males, aged 17 and 18 both from Geelong were interviewed and released pending further enquiries.

The other offenders are yet to be identified and police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
