Police investigating after stolen car used in ram raid at Wagga Wagga

An investigation is underway after a stolen car drove into a service station in the Riverina region earlier today.

In the early hours of this morning (Monday 16 November 2020), police have been told a grey Holden Commodore sedan was stolen from a home in Downside, north west of Wagga Wagga.

About 4.45am, the sedan drove into a service station on Tobruk Street, Ashmont, before a number of people ran inside the business and stole cash and cigarettes.

Officers from the Riverina Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding both robberies.

About 5.30am, the stolen Nissan Navara was located, well alight, on McNickle Road, Wagga Wagga. The vehicle was completely destroyed by fire.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision in the area at the time to come forward.
