Police investigating after suspicious house fire at Wagga Wagga

Police are investigating after a house was destroyed by fire in Wagga Wagga last night.

About 11.50pm (Saturday 4 July 2020), officers from Riverina Police District were patrolling Wewak Street, Ashmont, when they discovered a house well alight.

NSW Fire and Rescue attended and extinguished the fire.

The house was unoccupied at the time.

At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown, however, it is being treated as suspicious.

As investigations continue, detectives are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
