Police investigating serious assault in Lutana

Police are investigating a serious assault in Lutana last night which resulted in a man receiving significant head injuries.

Around 11.30pm two men and one woman forcibly entered a holiday unit on the Brooker Highway at Lutana.

The 40-year-old man inside the unit attempted to flee and was then assaulted with a weapon, similar to a baseball bat, resulting in him receiving significant head injuries.

A witness stopped to render assistance and the offenders fled on foot and were seen leaving the area in a grey Nissan X-Trail.

Police attended the scene and assisted the injured man until Ambulance Tasmania arrived and transported him to the Royal Hobart Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The offenders are described as:

  • Man aged in his 20s with tattooed face, wearing grey trackpants.
  • Man aged in his 20s with a stocky build, wearing a dark hoodie.
  • Woman aged 18-23, with straight shoulder length dark red coloured hair, wearing a back hoodie.
