Police lay charges after $23,000 cash and cocaine seized - Riverina Police District

A man has been charged after officers allegedly seized cocaine and $23,000 cash during a vehicle stop in the Riverina Region.

About 12.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 10 March 2021), officers from Riverina Police District stopped the driver of a white Toyota Hilux on Burley Griffin Way, near Wallendbeen, for the purposes of a random breath test.

During a subsequent search of the vehicle, officers seized an amount of cocaine, $23,000 cash and e-cigarettes.

All items seized will undergo forensic examination.

Following inquiries, the 47-year-old male passenger was arrested and taken to Cootamundra Police Station.

He was charged with supply prohibited drug, deal with property proceeds of crime, and possess prescribed restricted substance.

The Ingleburn man was granted strict conditional bail to appear in Cootamundra Local Court on Friday 9 April 2021.

Inquiries are continuing.
